This game has very little build up. Things start to go pretty wild only 10ish minutes into the game. This game advertises hellish landscapes and they deliver, but I worry that there isn’t a reason for these areas to exist other than that it looks creepy. You can tell this developer enjoys the Silent Hill otherworld aesthetic, particularly the kind you find in Silent Hill 3 because that’s what all the hellish areas look like. I’m only two hours in so I hope that there are legitimate reasons for these areas and monsters to be in the areas and positions that they are in. For example, there’s a monster 15 minutes in that is caged and spread apart by wires. I hope there is a reason for that other than it looking cool. I’m not saying that there NEEDS to be a reason for these things in EVERY game, but I think this game definitely needs that as they are seemingly utilizing the ‘amnesia’ trope that has become super prevalent since Silent Hill 2. I’m also worried about the story in that I feel that I may have figured the entire plot out just in the first hour. That amnesia trope is a trope for a reason

The graphics are great, and the areas are interesting to look at. The sound design feels a little muted and there are some areas where there is no sound at all, literally nothing. There is nothing wrong with that but it certainly doesn’t feel right to me and I’m usually a pretty good ear with this stuff. I’m at the hospital area and I’m enjoying the game but there are definitely things to be concerned about. I hope this is one of those rare instances where a game can surprise me, but I wouldn’t hold my breath with this one. It seems like your typical generic ‘Horror Engine’ template horror game that you can find just about anywhere these days. A pretty good horror experience with some serious research put behind the lore. A must for anybody who likes ancient Mesopotamia and a decent experience for any horror fan out there. If you experience any problem with the mouse not moving, just up the sensitivity, this fixes the so far the only problem I encountered.
